There were worse ways to end a night than sitting in a Denny's on the outskirts of the Quarter, a plate loaded with food that she was working her way through and a half full cup of coffee to one side.

Way worse ways. Klaus knows this, and as soon as he senses her, he walks inside. What was she doing alone outside the Quarter, anyways?

"Hayley." He says a smile, helping himself to the seat across from her. "What are you doing, love?"
