[It's not hard to tell that that fond look has a hint of jealousy to it. Finn doesn't quite get up, but he does roll over to be facing the rest of the cell.]

[Finn sighs and finally gets back up, walking over to put a hand on Shinichi's shoulder.]

Can't say it's not gonna be rough, but hey. Havin' a handful of people to lean on's better than havin' to get your feet back under you by yourself.

[And that's it, kid's crying. Honestly it's pretty impressive he lasted this long. Even then he's trying to hide it, knowing well enough how dangerous it is to show weakness.

But really, he's a confused and lost kid who doesn't know how to cope with the things that happened around him. What with Ren from Trapnest dying and leaving Reira. And he knows he just made everything worse for everyone involved. He feels like he could be sick.]

[The hand on the shoulder shifts into a one armed hug and a pat on the back as Finn sits next to him.]

Yeah, just let it out. Not gonna do any good keepin' it pent up right now.

[They're getting more tears out of him, harder tears, but he's still silent about it. Like he'd learned to only cry in such a way it would be hard for anyone else to hear.

He does lean into the touch ever so slightly, glad for some comfort. It didn't seem like anyone that might still care about him would be able to offer that much to him for a while.]

[There's not really much left to say at this point, so Finn goes quiet, giving what support he can as a surface to lean against.]

[Ratso crouches down on the floor to be less towering and offers a shoulder pat of his own for support. Despite his size and the fact that he looks like he could rip a car door off its hinges, he actually manages to be very gentle.]

[Chow, for his part, knows he's no good at this sort of thing. So he just sort of quietly sits on the bench next to Shinichi and keeps his mouth shut. Anything he says would probably just make things worse right now.]

[Shin starts to calm down.] I really fucked up... but I'm just glad this one person didn't get mixed up in my mistakes. It would have made everything pointless.

You could say that. [He wipes his eyes, still breathing a bit heavily.]

Know how that is...figured mine would disown me that first time I got locked up in Hollowlands.

[He shudders slightly as he mentions the name of the prison. Given that it's maximum security, recognizing the name would give some indication of just what he got mixed up in to end up there.]

But you'd be surprised the kinda mistakes real family's willing to forgive.

[He seems pretty convinced of that.]

You sure? Not just talking about blood relatives, yanno.

[He really can't imagine any of them forgiving him for this. The band was all that seemed to be keeping Nana together, and now they may well get dropped. Even if Hachi forgave him, he'd never be able to really face her. Especially not with Takumi around.]

Well, who can really say for sure until it's tested, right?

They can make the first step. I'm not going to inflict myself on them. Not when I ruined everything.
